This musical version of Yeats' poem of enchantment, “The Wandering Angus,” has been referred to by Travis Edmonson as his “English-language Malaguena Salerosa," so dear it is to his heart. Typical of the kind of material and interpretation which set him apart from ever being restricted to the mere appellation 'folk singer.' A sure-fire audience participation number, Travis Edmonson's recordings of this Cuban “hillbilly” song traverse a wide range, from the more subtle version on “The Latin Album” to booming live renditions on CDs “Tucson Tapes 2” and “Live at UC Santa Barbara.” Not to mention the Troubadour audience getting completely carried away with the tune about the girl from Guantanamo Bay, on “Travis on Cue.”

GUESS I'LL GO HOME
With superb phrasing and vocal skill, Travis Edmonson created a vivid and convincing portrait of a young man's yearning when he performed this solo at the Santa Monica concert. It was an interpretation which emoted the dozens of moods of an insolvent suitor who can't even take the first step towards his beloved. His own composition, its poignancy lies in the way it exposes an innocent heart.
