A musician himself, THOMAS JACKSON in San Diego, California, declares himself to be a Travis Edmonson fan for a half century now.
” I first heard Travis when he performed with the Gateway Singers during my senior year of high school. When the original album came out, I was hooked. I was a "coffee house kid" in Fresno, CA, and did some performing in northern California and Washington through about 1964.
I always seemed to be one step behind wherever Travis Edmonson was scheduled to perform, and will always regret that missed opportunity.
I still have some of the original albums, but they are showing their age and the CD's are a rare treat. I am especially grateful for the opportunity to buy the ones I missed as LP's.
Thanks so much for all the music and the memories. I'm still inspired by them as is my youngest son, who has his own band here. I share Travis' sorrow at the loss of John Stewart. I see Nick Reynolds on rare occasions around Coronado, my wife's home town. I had the privilege of seeing a reunion concert with Nick, John and Bob, along with Nick's nephew Joey Harris, at a local college a few years back. What a presence - what a loss!"

Reverend BHAGAVAN FRIEND in southern California tells why he treasures the music of Bud and Travis.
“I started listening to Bud and Travis as a young man in the late 50's or at the latest, very early 60's. I used to sing along with their albums. Today my friends (especially my younger friends - since I am now 65!) are amazed that I still know all of the words to their songs including Malaguena Salarosa. I guess that is what happens when something or someone makes a great impression on you.
Those WERE the days. Bud and Travis, Kinston Trio, and Cal Tjader - learned my Conga licks from Mongo Santamaria at the Palladium in Hollywood, California one find "Latin Jazz" night. (I also saw a pimply-faced kind of scrawny young guy with a levi jacket a guitar and a harmonica do his first American appearance at that same Palladium on another night. His name was Donovan.)
But, no matter how much I have loved music of all kinds from Ballads to Led Zeppelin, I have always had a special place in my heart for Bud and Travis - and always will. I still have and treasure their first vinyl 33 1/3 albums.
Thank you again for the site and for preserving and resurrecting this fine folk music. There will come a new generation (maybe some time down the line) tired of rap and crap music and searching for the ROOTS of great music, that will also love and treasure the REAL music made by Bud and Travis.
Persevere.”

EDITH EDGAR in Oklahoma loves the two Bud & Travis in Concert albums.
”I listened to Bud & Travis from "hand-me-down" records my aunts gave me when I was a child. The songs were calming and enjoyable. I believe they were my first introduction to stand-up comedy as well as folk music. I simply LOVE them and am on a hunt to fill my musical library with all that I can of Bud & Travis.”

When ordering some additional albums from The Travis Edmonson Collection, ANNE MARIE LOWELL expressed her delight in listening to the CDs.
I cannot tell you how pleased, enthralled I am with the Bud & Travis CDs I ordered from Travis' website. The remastering quality of them is incredible. As I commute to and from work and listen to them on my Zune (Microsoft's equivalent of an iPod), I can hear the most minute instrumentation. My old stereo system never gave me this!"

Being a retired teacher of Spanish, it's no surprise that SANFORD GORDON in Illinois particularly appreciates Travis Edmonson's Latin repertoire.
“I once played a Bud & Travis record for an uncle from Colombia. He thought it was one he brought me from Colombia. That's how good the Spanish on their albums is!
As a retired Spanish teacher I always appreciated the authenticity of their arrangements and tried to sound (accent-wise) as good as they sounded. And I think their Spanish helped me improve my accent while enjoying the music at the same time.”

Commander “MOOSE” BRUCE recalls happy days in Hawaii catching Bud & Travis live, and passing their great music on to the next generation.
” I was a young naval aviator at the Naval Air Station, Barbers Point HI deploying to the Western Pacific from 1960-1962. Each time Bud and Travis came to Honolulu I would take my girlfriend and we would get front row seats in the bars and cafes and watch these amazing and talented musicians!
What a wonderful time we had, and I have 4 of their CDs as I lost the 5 original 33 1/3 record albums I had in one of my 12 government moves.
I am still working, and listen to the Bud & Travis CDs all the time. my daughter, a senior at George mason University in Fairfax Virginia, loves their music too! Would you believe that from a 22 year old accounting major??”

The favorite Bud & Travis song of DALLAS WILLIAMS in Oregon is “South Coast.”
“I was lucky to be at the Bud & Travis gig in Santa Monica so long ago. Now I think the word is "honored". I lived in Tucson a few years back, but was never able to connect with Travis. I so wanted to thank him for "ruining my life," as his work, among that of others, inspired me and diverted me from what would otherwise have been a rather dreary life, perhaps.
So, today I sing and play. And I owe what happiness I have derived from this life in some part to Travis Edmonson. Thank you Travis!"

Musician JEAN WILKINS is one of the many people who remember Travis Edmonson from the time he spent in Colorado.
"Travis Edmonson once stayed at our home in Denver for a week or two.
My mother LOVES the Latin Music -- and we have fond memories of Travis singing all through the night, many, many Spanish songs that my mother and father knew and loved. Travis was a wonderful influence on me as a musician as well."

STEVE ROSEN is one of the ever-growing number of Travis Edmonson fans who've become aware of him via the Latin repertoire.
“I became aware of Travis Edmonson looking for a compilation of a song that I fell for, " Malagueña Salerosa," and I was tickled to read that it to was his favorite song to perform.
I love his rendition of this piece, and have become an instant fan.”
