VALERIE DE LA TORRE admits that she's been a Bud & Travis fan since she  was a little girl!

”Tonight I found travisedmonson.com after making an inquiry to Amazon.com for the "Bud and Travis Latin Album" just on happenstance! My mother bought that album when I was a little girl, along with Edie Gorme/Trio de Los Panchos and Herb Alpert. I listened to them hundreds of times I think.

The album is not playable anymore, but I always wanted to hear that incredible music again!  I would look at the faces of Travis and Bud on the cover as I listened to every song, every harmony, imagining them singing and playing, and have searched in music stores on different occasions just to see if there might be a good old copy.

Now I have more recently discovered treasures by searching for things on the 'net.'  After reading about Travis Edmonson's history, I am even more delighted to hear about his Arizona background! I too, am California born, but Arizona bred, having been raised in the mining towns of Globe-Miami, not far from Tucson, and not far from Mesa where Travis currently lives.

I am a Mexican- American, professional musician, who was once a music teacher outside of Phoenix in the towns of El Mirage and Surprise. I currently live in California working as a full time pastor and counselor, but also keep leading the musicians everywhere I go!

Because of my grandmother and mother, I have been blessed with singing and music all my life, to be sure it began with the 'old' Mexican music that was so foundational for me. That is one reason I have always remembered Travis Edmonson's Latin
album.

It truly was a marker in my musical formation and I want to thank Travis for using the gift that God gave him to bring the quality of those songs via his arrangements and passion for it.

As a child, I couldn't figure out if he was Mexican or not,so I just figured he was, or at least was from South America! Why else could he play or speak Spanish? I remember playing the album from beginning to end, over and over, but truly, the Malagueña Salerosa is the one my memory recollects immediately. I remember that long hold - I would try to mimick it!

I send many heartfelt prayers of healing and hope as Travis faces the hard challenges of life at this time. I thank him once again for the influence his music made on my entire life. I am eagerly looking forward to hearing all those great songs once again.”

Bendiciones,

DEBORAH DURKEE, in California, has been a Bud & Travis fan since childhood. As she prepares to leave the US, she has ordered the CD format of Bud & Travis in Concert to take with her.

" My family lived overseas from 1955 through 1969, and the Bud & Travis in Concert album, I can safely say, was one of our favorite LPs.  We carried that album with us from the US to Turkey to Australia and back to the US and enjoyed it throughout the years. I even made a tape of it when I left home for college, and later shared it with my daughter who is now a performing artist/vocalist living in Santa Fe."

ELAINE STACEY in Hollywood has a particular affection for the second Bud & Travis studio album.

“I was probably 9 or 10 years old when my Father brought home the Spotlight on Bud and Travis LP.  It was one of his favorites, and became one of mine.

When he passed away I inherited his vinyl and this was one of them. As you can imagine, its pretty full of pops and clicks after all these years.”

Special favorite of NICK WINSLOW in Pasadena is the Bud & Travis in Concert album.

“I remember seeing Bud & Travis in southern California  many years ago, and still have several of their old LPs. I did not know of Travis's illnesses, and am sad to learn about them.”

MICHAEL GALLAGHER in southern California is one of those second-generation Bud & Travis fans who've kept the flame burning.

“My father brought home the Bud & Travis in Person at The Cellar Door LP in the early 60's, and it was one of our family's favorites.

I am 58 years old and can remember Hootenanny, and this was by far one of the best recordings of it's time. Thanks again for helping restore some of my lost youth. Best wishes and regards to Travis and thanks for all the wonderful music!”

Top of MICHAEL WILLIAMS list of Bud & Travis favorites are the B&T in Concert recordings, and he's also a Gateway Singers fan.

” I was introduced to the music of Bud &Travis  in the early 60's via Les Claypool's radio show on KRHM. Didn't have money then, couldn't buy albums.

Glad to see this effort to bring back some wonderful music. Best of luck with the project.”

The favorite Bud & Travis album of JIM JASMIN in  Fremont, California is In Person.

“I first saw B&T on either the Steve Allen Show or Johnny Carson. Can't remember which late night show, but I remember them doing La Bamba and was blown away. Had to go out and find a record with that song on it. I've collected just about every LP by both Bud and Travis, and have several copies of each.”

SUZANNE NORMAN in Nevada experienced the same thrill as many other Bud & Travis fans when she discovered that all their albums are now on CD.

” I'm so excited to find this Web site because I used to listen to Bud and Travis' music back in the 1960's when I was a teenager, and still have their LP's with nothing to play them on. Now I am having so much fun listening to my Travis Edmonson Collection CDs and have downloaded them onto my iPod.

I let one of my Mexican friends listen to Malagueña Salerosa on my iPod one day, and he said, `oh, that gives me goose bumps down my spine. These are white guys singing? They sound just like they are Mexican.'

I was fortunate to see Bud & Travis on a couple of occasions back then, and I will always treasure my memories of their performance and hearing their music live. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Travis, for getting your music on CD's! May God bless you.”

James Vance in Indiana has a special fondness for the Perspective and Bud and Travis Naturally albums.

”Thanks for making the Bud & Travis recordings available. My recordings are over 40 years old and difficult to listen to.  I dragged them around for years while I was in the Navy and they have been through some children in the years since then.”

PHIL STOVER in Travis Edmonson's home of Nogales, Arizona has  many fond personal recollections of the singer.

There are so many memories ….  Travis and Bud eating my moms tuna stuffed jalapenos, playing at the Pioneer, drinking wine at De Grazias shops at Campbell and Prince and planning the next big tour of Travis and Phil.

I just wanted to say thanks to Travis Edmonson for some good music and memories. I still play almost every day and sill write (work in `progress" Mexican Roses)."
