LEE GUM recalls with regret a missed dopportunity to meet with one of his musical heroes.
“I have pretty much all Travis Edmonson's records, with and without bud and still love them. So sorry to hear about Bud and also of Travis' health problems.
One night I was up at North Beach in San Francisco. I walked into a place, and there was Travis! He had just finished a gig, and the place was empty except for the two of us. I said hello, and left. I've kicked myself many times since then for not engaging in a conversation. This must have been around '70. Oh, what a missed opportunity!
Boy, do I love Travis Edmonson's music. I'm now 69 and still listen to it. Thanks for all. Oh yea!"

BILL WARREN in Los Angeles states why he's made his CD purchases from The Travis Edmonson Collection.
“I came to this website because I was told Mr. Edmondson has an expensive illness, and that the money from the sale of the CDs would go directly to him. Sounds like a hell of a good idea to me. I don't know if I ever had a solo album by him, but I liked the Gateway Singers and loved Bud & Travis. I have some B&T albums, but not all of them. And I want all of them. I also want the Gateway Singers albums, being also a Lou Gottlieb fan.
I want Mr. Edmondson to get the sales proceeds. I feel I owe it to him. I never saw B&T in person, but they were my favorite folk duo, probably my favorite folk group (if two is a group) after the (dare I say it) Kingston Trio and the Limeliters. I have all the CDs by them I've been able to locate.”

DENNIS LOW in California sends a message to Travis Edmonson via the website.
“Hi Travis,
I've always loved the way you and Bud harmonized and complimented each other in your guitar solos. Your music is timeless. I've been a fan since 15, and I still love your music here in my 50's!”

Musician VAUGHN RIPLEY has particular appreciation for Travis Edmonson as a composer and arranger.
”I have played the guitar for twenty-five years and covered most styles including: heavy metal, blues, country, folk, pop rock, and even some classical. But, I received my initial musical influence by listening to one of my dad's reel-to-reel tapes of Bud and Travis playing "Cloudy Summer Afternoon." This song is a simple arrangement of words and music that comes together to create a magical combination that I can never forget! From the moment I heard this song, Travis Edmonson inspired me to pickup the guitar and play. Twenty-five years later, I still enjoy playing and singing this beautiful classic.”

BARBARA SMALL sent the following reaction after receiving a CD from the Travis Edmonson Collection.
“How can I thank you enough for sending me part of my past years in such a special package? Spotlight arrived and brought with it all of that wonderful harmony, sweet feelings and fun times long ago.
I can't believe that I remember each song exactly - all of the lyrics, word for word - even the Spanish (phonetically). I got the giggles at knowing that I never took Spanish, but there it was in this much older brain. Our college group heard it because we had the only phonograph in the group and had two records of Bud and Travis
Two special men with close harmony singing as a single voice at times. It struck me in later years that the two sang of people things - sad and happy. After all of the years, we all learn that those are the important, lasting things.
Travis, there must be a wealth of warm feelings inside to think of us who hold you in high regard. Great music sang with sincerity.
I must tell about a trip to the Yucatan peninsula (Chichen Itza) in about 1971. We stayed at the Archeological digs there and one night had dinner in a little place where they had strolling musicians. We were the only Norte Americanos present. I requested Malaguena Salerosa and saw the light in their eyes while they were playing it. Not as good as your recordings, but we all loved it - so far from home.
Thanks so much for all of the memories wrapped up in that little CD.
Best to you,”

Mike Solner was pleased to discover travisedmonson.com, and writes about his love for The Latin Album.
“ Last year I introduced my new girl (even at age 58) friend to B&T. We are both Spanish speakers, and we seem to play only the Latin Album-over and over and over.
In Ensenada after an awful fishing trip, we went into some restaurant which, unknown to us, had a group of musicians. We asked them to play Malaguena Salerosa and Sin Ti and you should have seen the expression on their faces as these two middle aged gringos sang along. Either they were B&T fans, or else you guys copied them. It was a moving experience for both of us.
Thanks for all the joy over the years."

CICELY NEWSOME owns all the albums Travis Edmonson made, and has preserved them with great care, and tells the reason why.
"Travis Edmonson's music has expanded my horizons, and began to do so since the first time I heard him. There were many great folk groups in the sixties, but B&T were head and shoulders above the rest. And that was even before taking their wonderful humor into consideration. How I would have loved to have seen them live. Travis, you are beyond compare!"
