About The Travis Edmonson Collection
For the last four years of his life, Travis Edmonson's solo albums, those he recorded with The Gateway Singers and each one of the classic stereo Bud & Travis LPs were made available on CD exclusively through this website to assist Travis in dealing with the costs of a quarter century of paralysis and other long-term medical conditions.
As important as the benefit was, offering the albums in respectful remasters was a major aspect of the project, and countless hours of meticulous labor went into the restoration of the tracks which otherwise might have been lost forever.
Getting this music into the hands of those who longed to be able to play it again was a genuine source of joy to Travis. That people all over the world now report playing the CDs on a daily basis, thereby keeping his legacy alive, highlights the success of the venture, no more than a one-person cottage industry which brought in useful funds to Travis.
As much as anything this project was born out of our belief that it is the artists who should reap the revenue from CD releases of their LPs.
Although Travis' passing precludes further implementation of this goal, many previous buyers have expressed the hope that the website will continue to make the albums available. It has therefore been decided to go on selling the CDs, certainly while stocks on hand remain, and to apply the revenue to costs incurred in their creation and production over the past four years.
